No time to delay to provide an integrated approach
If you operate a car park that has spare capacity, and it is within 1 to 3 miles of a town centre, hospital, or other key destination, then you could attract new users by turning the car park into a Park Active site.
The Department for Transport has made £2bn of funding available for walking and cycling infrastructure plans. Funding covers a 3 year period and plans cannot accommodate any new additions or amendments during that time. This means that if you are making a submission, now is the time to find out whether a car park is suitable for Park Active as the scheme can form part of the plan.
Private car parks can also benefit by being a Park Active site, and by supporting a local authority's plan can be part of a network of walking and cycling paths, joining up the infrastructure to make sustainable and active travel an easier choice for local people.
Why not have an exploratory, no-obligation chat with Chris Wade to assess suitability, or complete an expression of interest form so he can get in touch? It’s probably easier than you think!
